New York State adult literacy and ESL programs faced new requirements to provide career education to students, but struggled with having sufficient instructional hours. How could students learn about careers while simultaneously making gains on reading, writing and math skills?

The NYSED/CUNY CareerKits, a 10-sector literacy-based curriculum, enabling teachers to maintain their academic goals and teaching practices while infusing lessons with career content. The CareerKits are used by teachers and advisors in all regions of New York State.
